We are now requiring that all buyers sign a purchase agreement at the time of sale to help foster responsible rabbit ownership. This is for the protection of the rabbit to ensure our offspring find the best of homes.
This purchase agreement is mandatory for all buyers, no exceptions.
Availability
Rabbits are available first come, first serve. We do have a waiting list in which I will notify the minute we start accepting deposits on a litter. Rabbits are not available to purchase until they are at least 12 weeks of age and they must meet their minimum ear length requirement. This means a rabbit may be held by Bella’s Bunnies for up to 10 months until they are available for sale if they don’t meet their breed ear length standard. If a rabbit does not meet its ear length requirement by 10 months in English Lops and 6 months in Velveteen Lops than it will be sold as pet quality only. Bella’s Bunnies always gets first choice out of their litters and has the right to refuse the sale of any rabbit for any reason at any time.
Payment
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold a rabbit. I accept money orders or Paypal for deposits. This deposit must be received within 7 days of agreement to buy to the rabbit or it will be relisted for sale. The remaining balance can be paid before pick-up with Paypal or money order or in-person with cash or credit card. Bella’s Bunnies does not ship/fly rabbits at this time. ALL SALES are FINAL but we are open to any questions or concerns you have with your rabbit after you bring it home.

Show or Breeding Rabbits
All show/breeding quality rabbits will come with a pedigree (hard copy & electronic) and their ARBA registration when applicable. Bella’s Bunnies registers all their rabbits with the ARBA as it confirms they meet breed standards as judged by a ABRA-licensed registrar. As with all show rabbits, those originating from Bella’s Bunnies will have an official rabbitry name given to them on their pedigree that must stay with them permanently to maintain proper records and registration. You can name them whatever you like but when referring to the rabbit at an official show or on any offspring pedigrees its original name must be used. Every rabbit will be sent to their new home with a care pamphlet, a starter bag of feed and membership forms if you plan to show. All rabbits will be tattooed before leaving the rabbitry for identification purposes. Bella’s Bunnies can only guarantee that a rabbit does not have any show disqualifications. While we strive for quality in all departments, we cannot guarantee the showing outcomes, temperament, reproductive ability or longevity of any rabbit sold.
Pet Rabbits
Pet quality rabbits (those with disqualifications that would prevent them from ever being shown) will not be issued a pedigree. Show/brood quality animals sold as a pet will also be sold without a pedigree. Bucks sold as pets (regardless of quality) will be neutered before leaving the rabbitry. All rabbits will be tattooed before leaving the rabbitry for identification purposes. While we strive for quality in all departments, we cannot guarantee the temperament or longevity of any rabbit sold. Rabbits sold as pets are not to be resold.
Disqualifications as listed in ARBA Guidebook 2011: pigeon breast, deviated sternum, short coupled, compact body type, dwarf head, less than 14″ ears for VL’s and less than 21″ in EL’s ear length, ear width less than 1/4 of the length, lack of excessive tearing, holes or loss of ear length that noticeably detracts from the animal’s appearance, noticeable crown, abnormal ear carriage, wrong toenail or eye color, abnormal amount of toes, inadequate fur length, presence of guard hairs in the VL, poor color.*
*While there are some non-showable colors in the lop group these will not be considered disqualifications. As long as their coat is of quality they will be priced as much as or more like the show-quality rabbits based on their color since some colors are valuable to others.
Rabbits sold to pet homes will be sent home with a care pamphlet and a starter bag of feed.
Guarantee & Transportation
Bella’s Bunnies guarantees the health of the rabbit at the time of pick-up. Any rabbit showing signs of illness will never be sold. If a reserved rabbit gets sick before leaving our hands then a full refund will be given. We do not make any health guarantees once the rabbit has left our possession. Bella’s Bunnies does its best to breed and raise quality show rabbits. We do our best to accurately represent our animals at the time of sale but the buyer is responsible for the care and health of the rabbit once it leaves our possession. The buyer is responsible for looking over the rabbit and making sure they are happy with their purchase before bringing it home. Bella’s Bunnies is not responsible for replacing a rabbit free of charge, arrangement of travel, or refunding exchanged monies for any negative unforeseen circumstances or events that may happen after purchase.
We can deliver rabbits within 30 minutes of our rabbitry. Further delivery may be available if travel costs are covered. Arrangements for delivery, pick-up or other transport will be arranged on an individual basis. Rabbits can be delivered to any show I’m attending free of charge. See if we are coming to your area on our Show page.
Non-Pickup and Holds
If the buyer does not pick up their rabbit on the agreed date with no notice to Bella’s Bunnies or response to our attempts to get ahold of you than all deposits and payments (including all in the form of cash, money order or paypal) are forfeited and the rabbit will be put back up for sale within 24 hours. Rabbits will only be kept 2 weeks without additional charges after they are sold (and ready to leave our care). If no arrangements are made to meet this time period the rabbit and monies already paid will be forfeited by the buyer and the rabbit will be relisted for sale within 24 hours. If at any time during the buying process Bella’s Bunnies is unable to get ahold of the buyer through their contact information and receive a response within a reasonable amount of time of 4 days, than Bella’s Bunnies will assume the buyer is no longer interested in the rabbit and the rabbit will be put back up for sale. Any money deposited on the rabbit at that time will be forfeited by the buyer.
Return
If you are unable to care for your rabbit due to a change in your circumstances it is in agreement you will notify Bella’s Bunnies.
Bella’s Bunnies feels responsible for all rabbits produced here and we reserve the right to have the rabbit returned to us. This way we can assure it is taken care of and can either be rehomed to another owner of our approval or live with us here. No refund will be issued. Please do not abandon or release a rabbit into the wild as they are not fit to survive. Please do not try to give it to a pet store as it may end up as snake food or be bought on a whim by an inexperienced rabbit owner which may result in neglect and abandonment Many pet stores are not knowledgeable on the proper care, sex identification or breed identification of rabbits. We prefer if you do not surrender to a shelter as we feel responsible for all rabbits produced. We know space and resources in shelters can be limited. Bella’s Bunnies prefers its offspring to return to its original home if its current owners are unable to care for it as we are originally responsible for that rabbit’s well-being. We do not mean to deter buyers but we just want to avoid selling to those who deem rabbits as disposable.
If we are notified that a buyer is neglecting or internationally hurting a rabbit then Bella’s Bunnies reserves the right to take the animal from the buyer. No legal suit will be taken against the buyer unless the rabbit is not surrendered to Bella’s Bunnies.
Signs that may constitute the seizing a rabbit include:
- Abandonment or lack of concern about the welfare of the animal
- Wounds, such as burns, cuts, rips/tears, or signs of torture or attack.
- Excessively sore/bleeding hocks
- Parasites, like fleas, ticks, maggots, and mites
- Lack of medical care
- Not enough food or not enough water
- Fear of people, especially fear of one family member in particular.
- Inadequate housing (no shelter from the weather or is to small as listed in standards set by ARBA or is unsanitary).
- Adult Velveteen Lop under 3 lbs.
- Adult English Lop under 7 lbs.
Bella’s Bunnies holds the right to cancel or refuse a sale at any time for any reason. If we choose to cancel the sale (omitting circumstances listed above) any deposit will be refunded in full. Bella’s Bunnies reserves the right to take the rabbit back in the event you are unable to care for the rabbit any longer, no questions asked.
By inquiring about a rabbit listed for sale you have agreed you have read, understood and accept the above sales policy.
